Understand dangerous substances in your workplace and the practical measures needed to control the risks.
What is a DSEAR assessment?
DSEAR stands for the Dangerous Substances and Explosive Atmospheres Regulations 2002. It addresses safety risks from dangerous substances at work, including fire, explosion and substances corrosive to metals.
An assessment considers the substances present, how they are used and stored, who could be harmed and whether existing precautions adequately control the risks. Relevant substances can include solvents, paints, flammable gases and combustible dusts.
